Our French Revolution

This title is from a recent article by Victor Davis Hanson in Front Page Magazine. This provocative piece identified over 40 specific examples where progressives are driving a Jacobin agenda designed to take down this constitutional republic. As alarming as this conclusion may be, the reality is we are living in a revolutionary climate in the midst of an undeclared ideological civil war.

Dr. Hanson’s article is worth reading in its entirety. But some highlights may wet your appetite:

“We are in a Jacobin Revolution of the sort that in 1793-94 nearly destroyed France. And things are getting scary (emphasis added).The Democratic Party vanished sometime in 2020.Hard-left ideologues absorbed it. They were bent on radically altering, or hijacking, existing institutions to force radical, equality-of-result agendas that otherwise do not earn majority support.”After this set-up, Dr. Hanson goes on to list a litany of specific examples. This article comes about 8 months after my new book was published in August 2022. It is both validating, though chilling, to see a renowned thinker like Dr. Hanson come to the same conclusion that I saw when drafting my book many months previously.

My conclusion was the mob mentality of the Jacobin’s was obvious during the riots of 2020. But this involved more than just riots. What drove my thinking was the same conclusion that Hanson asserted: “Elites run this revolution, and is a top-down operation.”
