You Say You Want a Revolution: Status and Future- Part 1

This weekend marks the 4th anniversary of the publication of You Say You Want a Revolution: A Compelling & Cautionary Tale of What Lies Ahead.

It represents much more than a book. To me, it was like crying out in the wilderness of a WOKE time and place. Recall back in the summer of 2022, COVID was still relevant (at least to a significant segment), and the idea of MAGA was barely on the radar screen.

A year previously, I embarked on a “calling” to research and describe what I believed lay ahead. Once the book was published on 8-22-22, I thought it would have great interest to those who were concerned about what was going on.

I was wrong on the interest level. But correct on the thesis: we were indeed facing revolutionary times. In retrospect, the reason why the interest level was low had more to do with my thesis being ahead of the time. I was too far ahead of the crowd.

Think back to what you were thinking in 2021 and 2022. How many of you can honestly say you saw a revolution coming? Did you see the Democratic Socialists being elected in major cities and dominating the once proud Democratic Party? Did you see the MAGA counter-revolution come in response to the “progressive” movement that now has been more honestly declared as socialists (and even communists)?

I saw these movements and I called out in the proverbial wilderness. My message was ignored by most, even by those who I believed were my friends. Most people likely thought this was alarmist. It was just a passing, emotional reaction to the summer of love. Or it was understood by those who were working within positions that would be jeopardized by speaking out.

For about two years I posted “The Revolution Chronicles” on LinkedIn (see https://lnkd.in/eKPb2nbn). Ironically, my first “Chronicle” post was on this date three years ago. Since these posts were also largely ignored, I decided to step back and simply watch the show taking place around me.
