Looking Forward…and Looking Back

The Revolution Chronicles

As we approach what may be another “Summer of Love,” consider how the events planned for June 14th may be a precursor of things to come. These are called either:

“No Kings” which comes from a quote depicted on a flag known as “No Kings But Us” flag, derived from the early days of the American Revolution.

“Flag Day” which marks this day in 1777, when the Second Continental Congress paused its drafting of the Articles of Confederation, and passed a resolution describing the official flag of the United States.

The US flag has traditionally represented freedom and independence, and has been an enduring symbol of our country’s ideals.Adding to the significance of this day is that it also marks the 250th anniversary of the US Army–and also is President Trump’s birthday. A military parade is scheduled in the nation’s capital, as are protests scheduled in scores of cities across America.Consider these symbols along with the combustible division percolating in this country, one can ask: What could go wrong…? Underneath this is something, most avoid, yet you may want to consider. Below you will see what I call “The Revolution Chronicles.” These show dozens of news accounts that illustrate the revolutionary climate facing this country.

My sense and my experience says that we are facing some very troubling times ahead. Despite these, I hope and pray that rational minds will prevail.I’ll conclude with this quote from Benjamin Franklin, who stated:“War is when the government tells you who the bad guy is. Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.”
