The Trump Counterrevolution Is a Return to Sanity

The subtitle tells the story…

The Trump counterrevolution challenges entrenched elites, bureaucracies, and progressive ideologies in favor of restoring traditional values, government accountability, and national identity.

Dr. Hanson sets us his premise by initially stating:

“We are witnessing a historic counterrevolution after Trump’s victory, far different from his first election in 2016. The orthodox and the supposed scripted future are now suspect. And they are likely to be dethroned—from the trivial to the existential. Critics claim Trump has no mandate to stage such a counterrevolution. They argue that he did not win 51 percent of the popular vote or achieve a Reaganesque landslide in the Electoral College…”

He then goes on to list over twenty hot button issues that the voters rejected. He adds that “The Trump revolution is also cultural and social. Shared class interests have replaced race, ethnicity, and gender chauvinism.”

Here too, the “Revolution” is forwarded and applauded…

According to court documents filed Wednesday, agents were tipped off when they discovered Yener was “storing bombmaking schematics in an unlocked storage unit in Coral Springs, Florida,” the filings state.The FBI searched his unit in March and found electronic circuit boards, bombmaking sketches and several watches with timers. When agents interviewed Yener, he told them that he considered joining ISIS in 2015 after a self-identified member offered to recruit him. But he opted not to join.“Yener said he decided not to join ISIS in 2015 because Yener believed ISIS would not ultimately succeed in achieving their objectives,” the documents state.The suspect later met with an undercover FBI agent he believed was part of a militia group. Speaking to the agent, Yener revealed plans to bomb the NYSE the week of Nov. 18, 2024. He said his goal was to “reboot” or “reset” the U.S. government…”“The court filings detail the eerie message Yener recorded after. The suspect called the would-be terrorist attacks ‘a new revolution.’ What you’ve just witnessed at the Stock Exchange and California was just the beginning of a new era,” Yener is quoted as saying.“Be warned, if you raise your fist, we will cut them off. If you kick at us, we will break your legs. If you speak ill of us, we will chop out your tongue. Mass Deportation

In keeping with my long-standing approach to avoid weighing in on the “merits” of these news accounts, one obvious factor promises to result in much discord—and likely considerable levels of chaos and even violence. That is: mass deportation…

Consider elected officials from these cities/states who have stated they would resist attempts to move migrants from their jurisdictions:

Citing the Center for Immigration Studies, Newsweek reported that 13 states and more than 220 cities and counties already have some kind of “sanctuary” law or policy that limits cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

Threats to Trump’s Cabinet Appointees

A number of the most prominent Cabinet picks and appointees have been targeted by bomb threats and “swatting attacks. “Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and Administration appointees were targeted in violent, un-American threats to their lives and those who live with them,” Trump transition spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.”

“The attacks ranged from bomb threats to swatting, in which attackers initiate an emergency law enforcement response against a target victim under false pretenses, she said. The tactic has become a popular one in recent years. Leavitt said law enforcement and other authorities acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted and Trump and his transition team are grateful.”

“Among those targeted were New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, Trump’s pick to serve as the next ambassador to the United Nations; Matt Gaetz, Trump’s initial pick to serve as attorney general; Oregon Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer, whom Trump chose to lead the Department of Labor, and former New York congressman Lee Zeldin, who has been tapped to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.”

In these turbulent times, one would be wise to note Benjamin Franklin’s infamous adage:

“War is when the government tells you who the bad guy is. Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.”Let me be clear.
